These two options below are similar to the Walkley Visual Map where audios are linked to pinpoints on a map.
The UMapper option can be interactive as it enables you to draw on routes or have descriptions and even have audios like the MapMaker example below. The downside is that it would take viewers out of the Walkley website and into the UMapper website, so the experience of the viewers may be a bit affected, or become a little confusing.
The MapMaker option cannot be edited to form routes however the pinpoints can be embedded with Audios from Audioboo. The good thing about this is when the link takes viewers to a full screen map so it feels as though the viewers haven’t moved away from the Walkley website. The downside is when you click on a pinpoint, you have to zoom out ONCE on the map for the Audioboo player to show.
The above options are very useful for the Walkley History site visitors as they can look up their streets/ areas and see what has been discovered!
